About Sam Houston Park:

Sam Houston Park is a park located in downtown Houston featuring buildings and culture of Houston's historic past. The park was the first to be established in the city in 1899 and is the location for a variety of community festivals and events.

Several historic homes are located in the park representing a variety of eras, from a pre-Texas revolution cabin to an 1891 church built by German and Swiss immigrants.   The Kellum-Noble House, Houston's oldest brick dwelling built  in 1847, is also located in Sam Houston Park.   The Heritage Society Museum, dedicated to preserving the memory of Houston's history is located at the corner of Bagby and Lamar Streets.  Guided tours of the restored buildings are available from the Heritage Society.
